That Intent Look

When Xander gets his attention fixated on something (usually Mitzi), it is nearly impossible to get his attention away from it. I guess you could say he's a bit stubborn. This layout uses one of my current favorite new lines, it is Pink Paislee's Amber Road.
Products Used: Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee, Amber Road; Pearl/Rhinestone swirl - Prima Say it in Pearls; Red pearls - Recollections; rub-on - Fancy Pants; rub-ons alphas - American Crafts; Chipboard alphas (Intent) - American Crafts Thickers; Heart punch - Creative Memories.

Teasing Xander

This is a layout that I did at a recent weekend crop. The pictures are from February 2007 not long after we brought Xander into our home. The scan's a little wonky because there's some dimensions on the cream flowers and the Prima pearl centers. I liked the way this one came out, but the more I look at it, the more I wish I would've added another piece of pp under the top circle.
Products Used: Patterned Papter - S.E.I., Madera Island; Glittered chipboard - Making Memories; Die-cut - Colorbok (painted with MM chocolate paint); Flowers - from Michael's bridal section; Pearls & Pearl Centers - Prima; Fabric Alphas - Prima; Ink - Colorbox, Dark Brown.

Card for my nephew's 3rd birthday

This is a card for my nephew's 3rd birthday. I can't believe he's 3 already and by the end of the month he's going to have a baby sister. :) I just love the new Jillibean paper lines. That's where this kraft patterned paper came from. I thought the line with all the numbers would be fitting for various birthday cards.

I don't know why but the scanner gave me fits on this card. Even though I set it to just scan the card, it still scanned as an 8.5 x 11.

One of today's layouts

This is a layout of Xander. This picture was taken the day we brought him home, 01/05/07. Hard to believe it was that long ago. I don't normally handwrite my journaling, but this was to meet a challenge requirement.

Finally some layouts to post

I finally have some layouts that I'm really pleased with how they turned out. I just wish I could get good scans or pics of them. They always look so much better in the albums than when I post on here.

I'm just posting one for now, this is a layout of our oldest cat, Mitzi. She was being curious snooping around my scrap supplies, although you can't tell that from the pic.

Products Used: PP & Lace Doilie paper - Basic Grey Indian Summer; Cardstock - Club Scrap; Felt embellishments - Basic Grey Woolies; Alpha stickers - American Crafts Puffy Thickers & American Crafts Remarks; Die-Cut - Colorbok, sprayed with Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels; Pearls - Kaisercraft.

Getting Excited for the new kinda lss to open

We've been without an lss for far too long. I just happened to stumble on a post on Facebook a couple weeks ago that the former lss owner was starting a new store. However, this one will not only be for scrapbooking, but also quilting and jewelry making. I know it won't be the same as the previous store, but I'm so grateful to have someplace to go shopping locally again. I've really missed her and her great little store, not to mention the companionship of other scrappers that understand the obsession.

Just had to post because I'm so excited and can't wait for it to open. Not sure exactly when that is, but it should be sometime this month. And with all the new goodies from CHA starting to ship, it should be awesome.....

A different layout style for me....Sunrise

So this layout feels so different from my norm, but this is how it all fell together.

Scrapped an old photo

This picture was taken in July 2003. This was my pre-digital camera days, can you tell? These older pics sure are hard to scrap compared to my newer, digital ones. This is also when Mitzi was still the only kitty in the house. My, how things have changed.

Bad Blogger, I am

It has been way too long since I've made a post. I don't know where the time goes, but there just isn't enough of it these days. I guess the good part is that I've actually been getting some scrapping done on a regular basis. Nothing great, but some layouts I've been happy with. I think I'll post a few now.....

This one is my bad boy Xander. He is such a sweetheart, but can be oh-so bad. In hindsight, I should've added a little more patterned paper to this, but at least it's done.

This Face (spells trouble). Products Used: Cardstock - Club Scrap; Orange pp - Chatterbox Tangerine Eyelet; Brown pp - Chatterox Botanico Trees; Distressed pp - Basic Grey Granola - Vanilla Bean; Ink - Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade (orange) & Colorbox Dark Brown; Bird - Jenni Bowlin Journaling Card; Chipboard alphas - A.C. Hatbox; Paint - MM Manila with a little Chocolate mixed in; alpha stickers - Carolee's Adorn-It Chocolate Tiny Alphas; Velvet trim - Fancy Pants Amber Lace Wrap; Rub-on - Your Pictured Memories; Orange gems - Basic Grey Bling It (small) & 3 Birds (large)

Can't believe how fast the time flies

My last post was my January scrapbook accountability tally and here I am getting ready to post my March tally. As I predicted in my last post, February's purchases far outweighed products used. That's really bad considering I even had a 36-hour crop in February. I'll try not to be so bad in March, but I've already gotten a Thicker's pre-order. They had some really great and different fonts this time around.

Our Sweet Mitzi Girl

This is a layout I cranked out pretty quickly the other night. I am such a slow scrapper, but this one just came together and it's my current favorite. It's our 8.5 year old Mitzi and she is such a spoiled little thing.

Products Used:

Cardstock (Club Scrap), PP (Creative Imaginations), Harlequin felt (Prima Felt Mattie), Chipboard swirls (Maya Road), Black gem swirl (Zva Creative), Epoxy & "M" & circle stickers (Creative Imaginations), Thickers & Alpha Stickers (American Crafts), Paint (Making Memories)

AC/DC Concert

Well, I finally achieved my goal of attending at least one AC/DC concert. I loved every second of it! I wish I could go to one every week. They were fantastic & sounded amazing. Still can't believe their energy levels.

These are the two pages I did to commemorate my experience. I didn't get any pictures, so I just used the ticket stubs. Not very innovative or cutting edge, but I just wanted to get it scrapped while the experience was still fresh.

Getting things back on track....

Boy I didn't think it would be so hard to get back on track from the holidays. Just doesn't seem to be enough time to keep up on things. In December, I didn't get one single layout worked on. I did work on holiday cards, but that just isn't the same as scrapping a page. So far in January, I've managed to complete two pages. I hope to get a few more done in the next three weeks. Winter Scrapfest over at Lifetime Moments should help motivate me to get something done.

Here's the first layout I did this year - Purrfect Day
The scan is a little wonky, but due to time constraints, it'll have to do. This layout was inspired by a sketch challenge at Lifetime Moments. It's a picture of our kitty Mia sunning herself in our picture window.
Products Used:
Cardstock - Club Scrap & KI Memories Lace Cardstock; PP - Basic Grey (Perhaps Coll); Chipboard Alphas - American Crafts Thickers (Giftbox); Alpha Stickers - American Crafts Remarks (Kennedy, Jr); Butterfly - Tim Holtz Grungeboard; Paint - Making Memories (freeze); Glitter Glue - Stickles (frosted lace); Pearls - Kaisercraft (Bliss); Felt Flower - Fancy Pants; Brads - Doodlebug
